TVM has remained the most popular station among Maltese viewers with the station getting 26.84 per cent of preferences in the January-March Broadcasting Authority survey.
In the survey, a collection of ‘other’ television stations ranked second at 17.33 per cent; while One TV ranked third with 16.58 per cent.
The BA said that respondents were given the possibility of naming three preferred programmes broadcast on local television stations.
A total 25.6 per cent said that they did not have a favourite programme.
Out of all the programmes named, TVM got 57.17 per cent of all counts, followed by One TV with 29.28 per cent and Net TV with 10.07 per cent.
Of all the quoted programmes 0.27 per cent were for programmes broadcast in previous schedules.
The most quoted programme was Xarabank [13.8 per cent] on TVM; followed by F’Salib it-Toroq [12.8 per cent] on TVM; and Evangelisti [10.6 per cent] on One TV.
TVM’s News was the most quoted news bulletin at 8.8 per cent while One News [4.2 per cent] surpassed Net News [3.8 per cent] by 0.4 per cent.
Bay Radio was the most tuned-in radio station at 23.46 per cent; followed by Super One Radio [14.14 per cent] and Calypso Radio [10.11 per cent], respectively.
While Bay Radio increased the number of audiences by 3.89 per cent in the October-December 2009 period over July-September of the same year; for this period Bay Radio lost 3.1 per cent of its audiences to the other local stations.
