Sister pianists Francesca and Federica Badalini from Niccolo’ Paganini Conservatory of Genova and Milan’s School of Music are presenting the quattro mani concert Cinema in Note (Cinema in Music) performing the most beautiful soundtracks of highly acclaimed films throughout the years.

The concert is being organised by Fiesole Artistic Productions in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute and is being held at the Sala Isouard of the Manoel Theatre tomorrow at 7.30 p.m.

The project Cinema in Note, performed with quattro mani (four-hands) is an innovative concert concept born from the pianists’ passion for cinema and from their successful experience as sound-track composers. It is having outstanding success in Italian festivals and in the media’s reviews for its innovative approach to stimulate a higher appreciation of the artistic and musical values of the international cinema's legacy.

The programme includes famous soundtracks – from Charles Chaplin’s movie Limelight, Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story, Nino Rota’s Il Gattopardo, Federico Fellini’s Amarcord and Francis Ford Coppola’s Il Padrino to Andrew Lloyd Weber’s The Phantom of the Opera, James Horner’s My Heart Will Go On from Titanic, Johann Strauss’ Blue Danube Waltz from A Space Odyssey, Ennio Morricone’s Once Upon a Time in America, the famous Somewhere My Love from Dr Zhivago, composed by Maurice Jarre, and a medley of Neapolitan selections from the film Carosello napoletano.

Tony Cassar Darien will give a synopsis of each film’s plot, artistic value and musical perspective.
