I refer to the letter New Movement Or Blast From The Past? by Albert Micallef (May 5).

Mr Micallef threw doubts about the trueness of the picture on the front cover of the magazine issued by the Marsaxlokk local council in March, picturing the Delimara power station with a plume of black smoke. Mr Micallef could have well noticed that on page 2 the editors of this magazine published the name and surname of the person who supplied the local council with this photograph. This person also confirmed that she saw this plume in her comments on this letter on timesofmalta.com.

The magazine is not intended for tourists to visit Marsaxlokk; brochures of this kind usually feature the picturesque scene of the traditional luzzu with the church in the background.

Our magazine is intended to inform the residents of this locality about what is going on in the real life and not to alienate people with children's fairy tales' from Far-Far-Away. Undoubtedly, the main issue in Marsaxlokk during the last weeks was and still is the proposed extension of the Delimara power station. Thus, it comes naturally that the front cover of this issue should depict the Delimara power station.
