Vodafone slashes data roaming rates

Vodafone has cut its data roaming rates by up to 50 per cent.

The company's data roaming rates are based at €1.75/MB on Vodafone preferred networks and €2.50/MB for other EU operators. These rates are applicatble to customers on pay-monthly plans.

The Vodafone preferred networks consist of 69 operators in 46 countries across the globe, making it easier for Vodafone customers to roam while abroad.

Vodafone customers are able to control spending while using data services abroad through a new service called Data Roaming Notifications. To apply, customers need to call customer service on 247 from their Vodafone, or visit a Vodafone store before going overseas. This service alerts the customers when they reach their desired spending limit on data roaming. Customers will receive two SMS alerts, one before they reach their spending limit and another when they actually reach it.
