Transport Malta filed a judicial protest today against the driver and the owner of the trailer which on April 23 crashed into Aldo Moro bridge in Marsa holding the two responsible for the great damages the bridge sustained.
TM said the incident was caused by the driver because of negligence and violation of driving regulations. The vehicle was not even licensed by law. The licence had expired in 2006.
The trailer was driven by Carmel Spiteri, 56 and registered under another Carmel Spiteri, aged 60.
In the protest the authority said that it was expected that further inconvenience would be caused when lanes needed to be closed for repairs to the bridge.
