VAT investigations - Corrections of €1.2m requested
Persons being investigated as part of the VAT fraud investigations requested, of their own free will, corrections amounting to a total of €1,233,010 but further investigations are continuing, Finance Minister Tonio Fenech said this evening. The VAT Department also issued assessments for a total of €1,220,379 of which €234,247 were final.
Mr Fenech said that the VAT Department was still conducting investigations with regard to 16 persons arraigned by the police following their investigations last year, while 21 cases had been concluded. Some are in review stage while others are being contested before the Appeals Board.

Problem solved! just tell the VAT fraudsters to pass the money due to the 700 Motorists requesting a refund on their 2008 car registration tax.
