Alexia Cross, 30, a prison inmate, was today sentenced for a further term of 15 months for making use of stolen cheques.
She was convicted of having, in May 2007 misappropriated over €2,329 to the detriment of Bank of Valletta, a garage in Qormi and a jewellery shop in Sta Venera. She was also found guilty of stealing a BOV chequebook and using five stolen cheques.
Ms Cross was also convicted of committing the crime just one month after being placed on probation for three years on identical charges.
Magistrate Doreen Clarke noted that the accused had promised to return the cash but she had failed to pay up, despite even saying she had done so in the case of BOV.
