Not with Melita, never never never!! They dont convince you into a sale, they trick you into it.
You suddenly receive a mobile phone at home because you ''won it''. Then you discover that to keep the mobile phone you have to subscribe to Melita mobile even if you are already subscribed elsewhere. If you keep the mobile and you do not top up you will be automatically billed for 6 months subscription on your TV bill. So you phone and ask them to come and take it back. They say yes, but they dont come for it so that you will still be charged the unwanted mobile subscription fee. You therefore take half a day leave to take the mobile phone personally to their office. Thats Melita for you.

Or you can start writing emails to the consumer protection authorities and then the tribunal. It can all be done electronically except the appearance before the tribunal, and yes they will drag their heels until you have at least one attendance.

Melita collected two analogue receivers in October of 2009..to date I have not been refunded despite constant long and costly phone calls and visits to their Naxxar outlet.
They did tell me that apparently I owed them money in June 2006 ,, and they used my deposit money to pay themselves. I have asked for proof that I owed money, which they have neglected to give. I have asked to speak to a senior representative and despite promises from the manageress at Naxxar,no one at Melita has seen fit to pick up a phone. I hasten to add that in June 2009 or at any time soon after I was never advised by Melita that I owed them any money for the period in question .Four years passed before I was told what they had done and that after I forced the issue of my non refund
They have used my deposit money illegally, since funds given in good faith against return of the receivers may not ,without my authorisation ,be used for an entirely different purpose.
Seeing the above letter and other comments in the past,it seems that Melita has made a habit of not returning monies owed.

So what do you intend doing about it?
There is an authority that can safeguard you against this typical arrogance.

i have been phoning daily and still no refund! same thing happened when i changed my TV provider.
HD early bird is not going to make me come back to you, but a descent sevice might do one day.

This sounds very similar to my case with AirMalta what about my refund AirMalta, why is it taken so long, same with Melita, we should sign a petition and charge them interest after all they are receiving interest with our money, i just invested in a satellite decoder full hd free and never looked back since. T.T.F.A> ta ta 4 now.

Get a satellite dish and put up your antenna again and enjoy free-to-air stations.
Why pay for what you can get for free?
