Reserved parking slots
Tigné Point sales office in Sliema has had six reserved parking slots in Ċensu Xerri Street for a number of years. Why this company has a privilege that other business concerns in Sliema do not is open to speculation. What I question now is why it should retain these slots when it owns a massive underground car park on site.
Let us see these spaces returned to the public as soon as possible.

I totally agree with Mr. Bugeja. I happen to be a Sliema resident who lives in this area and have on frequent occasions taken up this matter with the Sliema Local Council but nothing changed! These parking bays are in the street and should never have been allotted to Tigne Point because the street is public domain, moreover now when they have an underground carpark. But alas, the rights of the residents are no longer protected and the reign of the mighty continues! So much for a once beautiful place called Sliema which has become a perpetual building site with the blessing of the authorities. Shame!

As an adjunct to this are/should banks' reserved parking slots remain reserved outside normal banking hours?

What about the reserved parking slots of people who either die or go to some home? It seems there is not mechanism to have these removed once they are no longer necessary and they are usually occupied either by other family members or by somebody who will know that that particular slot is vacant.
