A public lecture entitled 'The Mediterranean Diet: A Tool for Health - A Global Cultural Heritage' will be held tomorrow between 6 and 7.30 p.m. at the National Curriculum Centre, Ħamrun. The speaker is Anna Bach-Faig, scientific coordinator of the Mediterranean Diet Foundation in Barcelona.

Dr Bach-Faig's presentation will look at current research on the Mediterranean diet and its link with health, monitoring through dietary indexes, progress towards defining the diet and research on improving food availability and healthy eating.

The lecture is being jointly organised by the Nutrition, Family and Consumer Studies (NFCS) office of the University's Faculty of Education, and Home Economists in Action (HEiA), the local professional association for NFCS and Home Economics educators.
