The Institute of Tourism Studies in Qala opened its doors to the public last Sunday.

The restaurant was turned into a cafeteria between 12.30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Students prepared cakes, pastries and savouries to serve to visitors along with coffee, tea and hot chocolate.

The public was introduced to the facilities being offered at the institute, including the reception area, classrooms, offices, guesthouse, main kitchen and individual kitchens, computer laboratory and the wine tasting room.

The institute provides training related to several roles in the tourism sector such as front office, housekeeping, laundry, food preparation and the service of food, wine and other beverages.

The event brought to an end a week of activities which had as its theme 'Navigate... Your Career Path in Tourism'.
