St Ignatius College's primary school in Luqa recently held its yearly Environmental Adventures Week.

The week began with school-based activities for all year groups, including the kindergarten classes.

These included reading sessions relating to waste separation, composting and potting hands-on experiences, a treasure hunt involving the naming of trees found in our soft surroundings, and the planting of Widnet il-Baħar (Maltese Rock Centaury) and an olive tree.

On one of the days the school hosted Batterina - the official mascot of the campaign for the collection of used batteries.

The week ended with all pupils and staff, together with parents and grandparents, involved in a range of innovative and creative environmental activities at Buskett, organised by various NGOs and government entities.
