Man fined €2,100 for selling counterfeit items

Charles Sammut, 42, a hawker from Guardamangia, was today fined €2,100 after admitting to having, in 2004 and before, sold counterfeit items - mostly clothes - in violation of international trade marks.

He also admitted relapsing.

Magistrate Lawrence Quintano ordered the destruction of the items.

ACTION ACTION The action should have been from yourself Mr Galea? As a good citizen, it was your duty to report a crime to the police, if you thought that a crime was being committed. Did you do any of this ?

Mr Bonello, non original body parts are not counterfeit. They are not produced illegally and some of them are even approved by renowned companies like TUV. As for the safety of these parts I will ask you to mention one single case world wide where there was a casualty due to these parts. By the way, if not for the existence of these parts most cars will be declared total losses and beyond repair due to the high cost of original parts.
