Shameful - 206 Power cuts!!!! We are only 5 months into the new year! If we had 206 power cuts here in the UK since the Jan 2010 of the year, there would have been a vote of no confidence in the government and an election called or the prime minister would have had to have stepped down due to massive public pressure - when you stepping down with Gonzi Tonio?

@ J. Martinelli Perhaps you'd care to tell those of us who ACTUALLY LIVE here - just how many power cuts you had in YOUR neck of the woods???? This is 2010 for God's sake!! We've been living in this state of affairs for the last 30 years.... given the recent hikes in bills, given all the hype over the last 30 years - don't you think it's time that we (IN MALTA that is) - had a decent, reliable and CONSTANT supply of electricity????

Don't forget us in Gozo! Seven hours with no electricity in Xlendi yesterday! 8.0am to 3.0pm - could they have warned us? I wonder!

I suppose we have just been lucky because the supply to our area has improved a great deal over the last 15 years with far less cuts than we used to have. True that we still get the odd cut and sometimes the power supply seems rather low (dim lights) but it is better than no power at all.

Do you expect Enemalta employees carrying out maintenance work to be handling live wires? What the Minister should have explained is the number of planned maintenance cuts out of the 206 interruptions for a variety of reasons.

So we blame Enemalta engineers for not maintaining the grid in order to provide an uninterrupted supply, but complain if they switch off for a few hours while working on substations, power grids and power station equipment, if for nothing else, for safety's sake!

Maybe Mr. Forte should hire a crew of supermen who can handle a few kilovolts of electricity without ill effects.

But then, there are thousands who have never touched a live wire, yet somehow, ended up with fried brains.

I fail to understand of why Maltese need electricity. Maltese are always left in the dark. News papers do not agree with each other, no one knows what or whom to belief, in other words Maltese are like a mushrooms left in the dark. Who need light?

May I ask if this is a world record ? Can we apply to enter in the Guiness Book of records ?. Considering that we are living in E.U. !!**!! country in the year 2010, I think that we qualify, for this merit.................. MERIT ? what the hell I am talking about. Leaving your citizens in the dark, and pretend a merit. We are already left in the DARK in everything that this government are implementing, such as the extension of the Power Station.
