A strong, 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck offshore central Chile late on Monday, the US Geological Survey said, with no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The temblor's epicentre was located 151 kilometres southwest of Concepcion, and at a depth of 20.6 kilometres, said USGS.
It struck at 7.09 p.m. (2309 GMT). Concepcion is near the epicentre of the February 27 8.8-magnitude earthquake that triggered a local tsunami and killed at least 452 people. Seismologists said no tsunami warning was triggered by the quake.
