The Royal Air Forces Association today held a memorial service at the foot of the Air Forces Memorial in Floriana to recall the 2,301 airmen from Commonwealth air forces who died during the Second World War in the Mediterranean and have no known grave.
A number of British ex-servicemen attended the event.
Wreaths were laid by diplomats from various Commonwealth countries and the United States as well as local representatives of the RAF Association and the AFM.
The event is held annually on May 5 to recall the dedication of the monument by Queen Elizabeth II in 1954.
