An argument over a parking ticket got out of hand and a man ended up in court yesterday charged with assaulting a traffic warden.

Josef Grima, 26, of Żebbuġ, yesterday denied slightly injuring warden, Jeffrey Portelli on Friday at around 1 p.m., assaulting him and violently resisting orders.

Police Inspector Tony Cachia told the court that the argument was over a ticket for double parking in Mdina Road, Qormi.

Defence lawyer Gavin Gulia asked the inspector if the warden would be investigated because there were allegations against him too. The inspector said he would.

Magistrate Lawrence Quintano granted Mr Grima bail against a personal guarantee of €3,000.
