Brit remanded in custody for importing heroin
A 22-year-old Brit was this morning remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to conspiring to import heroin.
Scott Douglas Bell, of Newcastle Upon Tyne, was also charged with importing heroin and possessing the drug in circumstances that denoted it was not for his personal use.

im scotts sister and i dont really like these comments about my brother he was stitched up he would never dream about doing something that stupid when he has a family and loads of friends that love him so much i would just like people to put there self in his shoes and his familys and the people that are making these horrible remarks about my brother how would u feel if it was someone from ur family so please stop saying all of those nasty things about scott he his a good lad keep strong my baby brother we all love you no matter what anyone says lots of love always your sis ammi oh yes and dont judge a book by its cover esecially when you have never read it before OK

well i am a freind of scotts and do not agree with what has happened and no one knows the full story, and i know scott is a good lad and maybe has made a misstake we can all make them some bigger than others........ but i know one thing even tho i dont agree with what has happened i will be there for my friend in what ever he needs weather it is jst a card frm a friend to know that someone is thinking of him to keep him strong and to know he isnt alone in this.......................................and its not the small times we should be worrying so much about its the big time guys that never get caught and they are the only real ppl who benifit!!

@ ms g hoare, I am not ashamed to say that i am his relation, at the end of the day i know scott better than you, we are all shocked by what he has done as he hasnt done anything this stupid before, WE KNOW HIM AND YOU DONT,it must be easy to sit there and comment on someone you dont even know from 2 sentences in an article,so until they write more and print out the facts about what happened i think you should keep your opinions to yourself.

ms G Whore, Hayley i am with you, from jst 4 lines of story everyone is on about hanging and lynching scott!! where are you guys frm the 20`s who gives the right to any human to take the life of an innocent kid of 22 years old!!! i am a friend of scotts and this is totally out of charactor of scott he is a good lad, he has proberly bn set up, it has happened to ppl all over the world before why cant it of happened to him?? tell me that?? as one comment says below why would anyone be so stupid to entre such a hi security airport!! well why would scott, so to me it looks like a set up coz i know scott and he has always considered smack a dirty drug for scum and would never hve anything to do with it!! head up scott mate!!!!

Well said Salvino. I completley agree with you these people should not be allowed to ruin our childrens lives and cause such pain and emotional turmoil to families. I am a brit living in Malta I have every strong views on this problem people bringing drugs into a country should suffer the death penalty if proved guilty.

i would just like to say to all of you that know my son scott you are the real people that count as i read these comments you all know that he is a good lad really and he must have been so desperate to have made a very stupid mistake like this and it doesnt matter who u are or where in the world u live please dont tell me u have never made a mistake or done something u have regreted cause if u can say that u are i liar my son has made a terrible mistake and he will pay for that and unless u know the full story as i do please have a bit of dignity in your comments learn the truth then u can throw yous stones in your glass houses i love my son with all my heart as do a hell of a lot of his family and friends keep ur chin up son i will

On a more serious side, I really cannot understand how anyone could be stupid enough to knowingly try and bring large quantities of illegal drugs through such a heavily inspected funnel such as an airport.
