MHRA praises police for arraigning gang members

The Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association has congratulated the police for apprehending persons who formed part of the gang and assaulted on members of the public earlier last week.

"Bringing to justice the persons involved in these acts in less than a week has shown the police’s commitment to an otherwise serious situation in our streets. Locals have been given the peace of mind that they can walk the street with confidence knowing that the hand of the law can act quickly and decisively when such violence rears its head. This also gives comfort to our tourism industry knowing that visitors to the island can enjoy their stay safely," the association said.

It hoped that other acts of vandalism are resolved and the perpetrators severely punished to ensure that the Maltese and all those that visit Malta, continue to enjoy the tranquility and good quality of life everyone has worked for over the years.
