Three men - a Briton, a Liberian and a Congolese, have been arrested after a big drugs find by Customs officers and the police.

Almost a kilo of heroin was found hidden in a false compartment in a bag being carried by a 22-year-old Briton who flew in at Malta International Airport from Brussels last night.

After further investigations, a 35-year-old man from Liberia resident in St Paul's Bay and a 40-year-old man from Congo resident in Marsascala, were arrested near City Gate this afternoon. The drug is believed to have been destined to them.

The men are expected to be arraigned in the coming days.
