BORDA. On April 23, at Mater Dei Hospital, to Lydia née Zahra and James, God's precious gift of a daughter - JULIA, a most welcome sister to Matthew. Special thanks to the obstetrician and his team and all the staff at Obs 2 and Obs 3.

MICALLEF. Born at St James Hospital, Sliema on April 24, to Alice Anne née Cutajar and Pierre. God's precious gift of a daughter Mia, a most welcome sister to Melanie and Michela. Many thanks to the obstetrician, the midwife Carmen Scerri, Christine Pace and all the very helpful staff at St James Hospital.

SMITH. On April 3, at Mater Dei Hospital, to Joanna née Ellis and Jon, God's precious gift of a first-born daughter - EMILY KATE. Thanks be to God and Our Lady. Special thanks to the obstetrician, midwife Thresanne Howland, all the staff at the Delivery and Obstetrics ward and the NPICU.

UDRAS. On April 21, at Mater Dei Hospital, to Clare née Ellis and Evgeny, God's precious gift of a son - DANIL EVGENIEVICH. Thanks to the staff at the Obstetric Ward and NPICU. Special thanks go to the doctors.

VELLA. On April 21, at Mater Dei Hospital, to Analiza née Caruana and Jesmond, God's precious gift of a son - MAX PAUL, a most welcome brother to Martha Kate. Special thanks to midwife Sharon Micallef and all the maternity staff.

Marriages

Mr IVES BILOCCA, B. Pharm. (Hons) and Miss CHIARA LANFRANCO, B. Pharm. (Hons)
The marriage took place on Saturday, May 1, at the Metropolitan Cathedral, Mdina, between IVES, son of Mr and Mrs Anthony R.P. Bilocca of Xemxija, St Paul's Bay, and CHIARA, daughter of Dr and Mrs Francis Lanfranco of Sliema. Nuptial Mass was celebrated by Fr Stefan Attard and Fr John Scicluna. The ceremony was witnessed by Dr Peter Fleri-Soler and Dr Philip Lanfranco. Mr Nicholas Bilocca and Mr Pio Sciriha carried out the duties of best men. The bride was attended by Miss Veronica Azzopardi and Miss Lara Micallef. Miss Angelina Bilocca and Miss Cinzia Bilocca were flower-girls. Master Julian Bilocca was page-boy. A reception was later held at Palazzo Parisio, Naxxar.

Mr ANDREW SPITERI and Miss GABRIELLA BRUNO
The marriage took place on April 17, at Ta' Lapsi church, St Julian's, between ANDREW, son of Mr Anton Spiteri and Mrs Doreen Spiteri of Attard, and GABRIELLA, daughter of Mrs Antonella Bruno and the late Mr Franco Bruno of St Julian's. Nuptial Mass was celebrated by Fr Claude Portelli. The ceremony was witnessed by Dr Doreen Spiteri and Mr John Attard. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr Mirko Mallia. Mr Adrian Agius and Mr Alexander Attard were ushers. The bride was attended by bridesmaids Miss Denise Spiteri and Miss Natasha Attard; Miss Valentina Bruno was flower-girl. Master Luca Bruno and Master Sebastian Attard were pageboys. A reception was later held at Villa Mdina, Naxxar. The couple will be spending their honeymoon in London and on a cruise in the Baltic capitals.

Requiem masses

It being one month since PHILIP AMATO GAUCI went to meet the Risen Lord, Holy Mass will be offered for the repose of his soul at Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Sliema today at 7 p.m. and on Thursday at 8.30 a.m. A further Mass will be offered at Sarria Chapel, Floriana on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

A Mass for the repose of the soul of CARMEN APPS, née Bonett, will be said tomorrow at 7.15 p.m. at Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema. The attendance of family and friends will be appreciated.
