Malta University Consulting will be conducting a course on Inclusive Education between Thurs-day and June 24.

The aim of this 30-hour course is to introduce contentious issues in inclusive and special education, which will generate debate and propose ideas that could contribute towards an educational system that reaches out to all, enabling disabled students to learn to speak up for themselves.

Lectures will be held between 4.30 and 7.30 p.m. at the University Residence, Robert Mifsud Bonnici Street, Lija, principally on Thursdays. The course is aimed at learning support assistants, teachers, senior management team, student teachers, LSA trainees and the general public.

The tutor and coordinator of the course is Andrew Azzopardi, a lecturer within the Department of Youth and Community Studies, of the University's Faculty of Education. His lecturing focuses on inclusive education, sociology, critical pedagogy, disability politics, multicultural education, community management, emancipatory research, narrative enquiry as well as youth and community studies.

Other course lecturers include Elena Tanti Burlò, Ruth Falzon and Charmaine Agius Ferrante.

Participants who attend at least 80 per cent of the sessions will be awarded a certificate of attendance issued by MUC in collaboration with Dr Azzopardi.
