Diamonds International, a subsidiary of Classic Group, and IT solutions provider Crimsonwing are to represent Malta in the 2010 European Business Awards sponsored by HSBC.

The two companies are among a host of Maltese businesses competing for the coveted Ruban d'Honneur in the next round. Final category award winners will be named in Paris on November 16.

Now in their fourth year, the European Business Awards have identified some of Europe's brightest organisations based on their ability to demonstrate the three core principles at the heart of the awards programme. The judges are seeking organisations to represent Malta based on demonstrations of innovation, business excellence and sustainability.

The European Business Awards are dedicated to raising the visibility and progress of companies who excel in delivering innovation twinned with successful commercial results while acting responsibly and positively affecting the social environment they operate in.

Last year, the 99 Ruban d'Honneur recipients had a combined turnover of more than €570 billion and recorded an average annual profit growth of 56 per cent.
