The heading of the report of the speech in Parliament by Resource Minister George Pullicino, which appeared yesterday, should have read Waste Management Allocation Rockets To €16m as was clear in the first paragraph of the item.

The minister said the government had the courage to make decisions in connection with the Sant'Antnin waste management plant and would continue to make decisions with regard to climate change.

He said that the State of the Environment Report 2008 built on previous reports and if one compared that document with the first such report one would notice a big leap forward. "The funds allocated by the government for waste management was less than half a million euro. Today this sum reads €16 million."
