Travelzoo, a global internet media company, announced the findings of its European Subscriber Survey, which revealed that its four million European subscribers in the UK, France, Germany and Spain will spend more than £3 billion on their primary summer holiday in the next five months, despite economic uncertainty and travel disruptions.

The news comes as the company reports an unprecedented level of consumer interest in Travelzoo's publications including the Top 20® email newsletter and the Newsflash™ email alert service since the start of 2010. Travelzoo has attracted 450,000 new European subscribers to these publications in this period, taking the total European subscriber base to over four million. Total clicks during the first three months of 2010 on European editions of the Top 20 list and Newsflash exceeded 15 million, up more than 80 per cent on the same quarter last year.

Travelzoo's European Subscriber Survey also revealed that Travelzoo subscribers in Europe have a higher than average household income and tend to be frequent travellers. For instance, in the UK the average household income of Travelzoo subscribers is £43,817, which is 44% higher than the national average.

Travelzoo also found that its French, German and Spanish subscribers all earn significantly more than the national average.
