Workers and employers have a place within the PL - Joseph Muscat
All those who wanted to create employment in Malta had a place within the employment movement the Labour Party was creating, party leader Joseph Muscat said today during a visit to the Luqa industrial zone.
During the visit, held as part of the party’s Worker’s Day celebrations, Dr Muscat met many self-employed.
He said that the PL understood workers, be they blue or white collar, as well as the self-employed and employers.
He discussed with the people he met the challenges and difficulties they were facing, particularly high water and electricity bills and a lack of sales.

Dear Joseph the party that saved Jobs is the PN and created new ones. Ask the workers whose employment was jeoperdised by the international recession. See the statistics thar show that Malta's unemployment is under the EU average. These are practical examplrs and not words.

Quite a bit contradictory if you ask me. Workers and Employers have a place within the MLP. It's like saying, hunters and environmentalists has a place in the MLP. Two much opposing forces. The MLP chose to entertain the hunters and do working groups with them - automatically forfeiting the environmentalist votes.
You gotta choose Joe - your either fighting for the rights of workers or the employers. What will you do when the issue in question is directly opposed to one another? Take a stand will you cause Joe Muscat comes across as a very indicisive person who is just licking everywhere for votes. Mintoff the great won many elections on the workers interests motto - then the PN did so as well on the same stand, when surprisingly it declared that it is a party for the workers as well (like the MLP was), back when Fenech Adami became leader.
What will Joe Muscat and the present MLP be remembered for? That there is a place for God and satan in the same party? What happens once both give you there vote and come to redeem their expectations from you? Who will you entertain or shove away?

Both employer and employee are workers. So why not a place in the PL? The employer is no PN monopoly.

Mr. Schembri - Agreed, they are both workers, but they are opposing forces of workers. I did not mean to say that there is no place for employers with the PL - of course there is, but one must question the fundamental ideology of the party - where it is heading and what it will harvest once both forces (most of the time opposing) vote for it and claim their rightful requirements which go directly opposed to the other. In a way insomma, the same thing happening today with this tired government where it promised everything to all and now we are all grumbling about it and want to change it at the first opportunity. The same will happen, with what Joe is doing, licking everywhere, and hence, I hope he does not expect a 2nd term at the helm.
James Grima - you are underestimating a strong party and you will be disillusioned soon.

Jien Nazzjonalist, ma nisthix nghid li jien hekk, u kburi li kien il-partit tal-PN li ghamel gid enormi li dan il-pajjiz. Mhux f'dawn l-ahhar kwazi kwart ta' seklu (Record!) izda anka fil-passat remot. Il-Partit Nazzjonalista qatt ma kellu tendenzi kommunisti, partiggiani, vjolenti bhal ma kellu l-partit li li t'qim.
