Muslim community thanks Bianca Zammit
The Muslim Community in Malta this morning expressed its admiration and appreciation to Bianca Zammit, the Maltese woman shot and injured while filming a Palestinian protest in Gaza last Saturday.
The community said it also wanted to condemn 'Israeli brutality' against Ms Zammit and other foreign and Palestinian demonstrators.
"This deplorable aggressive act clearly shows that the Israeli forces consider all Palestinians and those who justly support them as enemies," the community said in a statement over the signature of the Imam.
"The noble efforts and sacrifices of Bianca are a living and leading example to the world which should support the oppressed Palestinian people who are striving to secure their national legitimate rights."
The community also thanked the Maltese people, the government and the political parties for their historical continuous support of the Palestinian People.
"The mixture of Bianca's blood with Palestinian blood is witness to the Maltese-Palestinian alliance for Justice."

@Joseph Agius :
I think if we protest for Giliad ( 1 prisoner for 3 years) to be released, so who would protest for the (30,000 Palestinians prisoners for 10 years) in the Israeli prisons, and who are Tortured in prison years ago ???
Actually It's ironically to see UN intervene for one person, and ignoring thousands of prisoned people without any crime they have made, except defeating their homes and families.
@martin chetcut: So if many Katyusha Rocket attacks on villages, so what about the white phosphorus bombs and other internationally banned weapons used by the Israelis on Gaza people in December 2008 ?!
Hey Guys, open your eyes, do not here the one sided truth, Peace is all people's right, but what is the definition of peace do Israelis have ?
Is the occupation of land of others , killing, arresting and torturing them is meaning of peace , while when the owners of the land defend their rights, their honor and identity call this terrorism ?!!!

Israeli armed forces always attacked because they where attacked before by Hamas they retaliate. If they use phosphorus its wrong but they also use guided bombs for there targets to minimise casualties not like Hamas rockets they fall everywhere. Mr Aya Raafat I am against Hamas leadership not Palestinians which I know for sure that the vast majority are people of goodwill and hard working, I always say that the problem is with Palestinian leadership not the citizens.

Hamas is 20+ years old. And the occupation is 60+ years old. Make the calculations please. You and find out the conditions for Hamas's birth. Thank you

Robertis wrong about the ISM not supporting Hamas. Huwaida Arraf, the co-founder and head of ISM has stated publicly the ISM works closely with Hamas. George Galloway admitted on Arab TV ISM brings money to the terrorist group in Gaza. Hamas attacked Israeli towns for 8 years with 8000 missiles. From Hamas charter: The day will come when the rocks and trees will cry out "Come, there is a Jew behind me, come kill him" The Hamas charter calls for killing world jewry and for destroying Israel. As for the Malta reporter wounded, the Hamas and ISM would not let her among them if she wasn't one of them.

"The mixture of Bianca's blood with Palestinian blood is witness to the Maltese-Palestinian alliance for Justice."
Such an unfortunate choice of words. I can't help getting the impression that they reflect a mentality which glorifies the shedding of blood, martyrdom and death. Ms Zammit does not represent anyone but herself and there is no such thing as a Maltese-Palestinian alliance for Justice.
The NGO in question is very suspect. I watched the video clip of Biance being transported to hospital. She was asked loaded and leading rhetorical questions. It seems that whoever was asking the questions was more interested in exploiting the incident than in Ms Zammit or anyone else's welfare.

I suggest to the ISM ''Resistance'' organisation to change there strategy and start resisting Hamas instead of organising futile demonstrations which sometime end up disastrously. Resist Hamas and elect a goverment of Dialogue and Compromise and things will change for the better

Funny thing, but a lot (not all ) of Muslims here are refugees, running away from their Muslim governed states...

Dear Muslim Community and their Maltese supporters,
Please don’t include all Maltese with Bianca. As good as she taught her motives were, she was on the wrong side of the fence. She should have been protesting in Sdrot, Ashkalon, towns n d Negev and not Eliat, where 1000s of missiles from Gaza fall in Israel. It’s a big question why Maltese Media is always silent in this matter. OH!! Biance may have been protesting for the Red Cross, Red Crescent or whatever humanitarian there is to at least be allowed to visit Gilead Shalit, who has been kidnapped by Hamas for over 3 years, and no knows what his condition is. Go for it Bianca, go and protest so Giliad will be released!!!

The ISM, the organisation with whom Bianca volunteered in Palestine is not Hamas, has nothing to do with Hamas and considers NON-VIOLENCE activism a priority.
Some people here say they are not willing to support Hamas. Neither do I and most of the Maltese people who support the Palestinian cause. But we do support the work the ISM is doing both on an activist basis, and on the educational/voluntary one.
Please stop this disgusting mudslinging.

Well said Mr A.Tabone. The Muslim community should rephrase "The mixture of Bianca's blood with Palestinian blood is witness to the Maltese-Palestinian alliance for Justice."
It is not right of them to think that we ALL maltese support them. Particularly when they are led by Hamas.

"The mixture of Bianca's blood with Palestinian blood is witness to the Maltese-Palestinian alliance for Justice."
No sorry, Bianca is just one person and does not represent the whole of Malta. Whilst I am pro-justice, I've read about terrible acts from Palestine as much as I've read from Israel ... so personally I would prefer to remain neutral when it comes to the Israel-Palestinian conflict.

I feel confident that the Muslim community would still have expressed admiration and appriciation to Bianca Zammit had she been injured and shed her blood say in Bagdad where a muslim suicide bomber kills hundreds and injures others near a mosque. I am sure that the Imam would have publicly condemned the suiside attack, like he always does.

The Muslim community should know that justice is a two-way street and applies to both Palestinians and Jews alike. Does the Imam ever condemn the brutality of terrorists who blow up and kill innocent civilians with rockets and suicide bombers?

Dear muslim community, Do this Maltese Palestinian Alliance for JUSTICE supports the Suicide Bombers blowing innocents on buses and restaurants and Katyusha Rocket attacks on villages?? Well if no then I will start to consider myself among the Maltese to support your plight and all other movements of goodwill.

We are still to witness a few others statements similar to this from other so-called armchair ngos because the anti-Israeli alliance in Malta is on the warpath and have been planning tactics for several weeks. They are canvassing PL MPs to table parliamentary questions on this issue and want to take it up at OSCE level. We shall soon see spontaneous demostrations in Republic street against the dead sea products people and other similar antics. "They" and their anti-Semitic cleric rebel friends want to bring this conflict in our Maltese streets. Will you dear readers let them? ... Ties between Malta and Israel will remain strong they will not be sent back again to the 70s when our then PM wanted us to became a blood-brother confederation with our southern neighbour

No Thank you
I am for no 'alliance for Palestine and Malta'.
I am Maltese and I do not support a state run by Hamas.
Bianca is free to support whoever she wants, but in no way myself and I am sure the majority of Maltese support Hamas
