Museum first for Anne Frank's diary

Nearly all of Anne Frank's diary went on display for the first time today at the house where she wrote it during the two years she hid from the Nazis.

The notebooks and pages that comprise the Second World War diary have been moved into Amsterdam's Anne Frank House museum to mark 50 years since it opened its doors to the public.

Part of the diary already was at the museum. The rest has come from the vault of the Netherlands War Documentation Centre.

On display are three notebooks, a book of short stories and a book of quotations. Several hundred loose pages written on fragile paper will be rotated for public view.
