Manchester City keeper Joe Hart is expecting to remain on loan at Birmingham for the remainder of the season.

Roberto Mancini's side have been plunged into a keeper crisis after Shay Given dislocated his shoulder against Arsenal, with Stuart Taylor already injured. It leaves them with Gunnar Nielsen as their only available senior keeper, sparking reports City will try to get Hart back for the final two games.

Hart said: "It is nothing to do with me. I am devastated for Shay. All I can do is wish him a speedy recovery and hope he gets back between the posts as quickly as possible.

"The loan? As far as I know, that's the way it is. I will be staying here."

Del Piero believes in fourth spot

Alessandro Del Piero insisted Juventus can still finish fourth despite trailing Sampdoria by six points with just three games to play.

Juve dominated Bari 3-0 at home on Sunday to move to within four points of Palermo but their hopes were then badly hit as Samp won 2-1 away to Roma. Even if Juve win their last three games, including an away trip to Milan, they will need both Samp and Palermo to collapse in order to snatch fourth place, but Del Piero thinks it's possible.

"It will be very tough for us to finish fourth but that's what we want and we have to believe," he said.

"We can't look too much at the other games and just think first about ourselves. We won and we're happy but now we have to win our last three games as well and then cross our fingers."

Toni dreaming of World Cup ticket

On-loan Roma forward Luca Toni said he is still dreaming of a place in Italy coach Marcello Lippi's World Cup squad after bouncing back to form since the turn of the year.

Toni has featured little since Lippi came back to the helm following Italy's quarter-final exit at the European Championships two years ago.

And after being frozen out at Bayern Munich over the first half of the season his chances of a World Cup call up seemed to have disappeared.

But a loan move to the Italian capital has helped rejuvenate not just the 32-year-old but also his chances of heading to South Africa.

"There's many of us in contention for the Italy shirt, Lippi already has his ideas on his squad. I hope to go, he knows me well," said Toni.

Robbie Fowler opts for Glory

Former England and Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler will play for Perth Glory in the next Australian season, the A-League club said.

The 35-year-old will be reunited in Western Australia with Ian Ferguson, the manager he fell out with spectacularly after being dropped from a match when both were at North Queensland Fury last season.

Perth's move for Fowler was facilitated by a rule change which allows A-League franchises to employ two players whose wages break the salary cap.

Kenwright rubbishes Moyes speculation

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright has "laughed off" speculation manager David Moyes is poised to succeed Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.

Moyes last week described as "nonsense" reports he was being lined up to take over at Old Trafford when his long-serving fellow Scot eventually decides to step down.

Kenwright is equally unimpressed and is determined the 47-year-old, who recently celebrated eight years in charge at Everton, should stay at Goodison Park.

Kenwright said: "It's absolute nonsense to infer that we would let David depart for Manchester United with our blessing.

"If a day like that ever did occur, Evertonians know that I would fight tooth and nail to keep our manager where he belongs."

Beckham plans autumn return

David Beckham will not be fit to play again until November as he continues to recover from surgery to repair his torn Achilles tendon.

Beckham, already ruled out of the World Cup finals, suffered the injury in March while on loan to Milan from the LA Galaxy.

He now looks set to miss the entire Major League Soccer season.

"I'm not going to be running for another three months so I'll be playing again, probably in November," Beckham said.

Fiorentina set to part with stars

Reports in Italy said yesterday that Fiorentina are looking to offload some of their star players next season to balance the books as the team is set to miss out on a place in Europe.

Among the names mentioned were goalkeeper Sebastien Frey, Juan Vargas and Adrian Mutu.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Frenchman Frey could join Arsenal or Manchester United for a fee of €15 million.

Peruvian Vargas is probably heading Real Madrid's way but it looks more complicated with Mutu as he is suspended until October for failing a dope test.

There is interest from Fenerbahce and Galatasaray who are both prepared to pay between €7m and €8m for Mutu. However, he would ideally like a move to Roberto Mancini's Manchester City.
