The sale of tickets for Gozo Channel crossings is being transferred from Cirkewwa to Mgarr as from tonight because of the works on the new Passenger Terminal in Cirkewwa.

With effect from tomorrow, both the purchase of tickets and their validation will be at Mgarr, whilst at the Cirkewwa end passengers and vehicles will only queue and board, without the need to have their tickets validated.

This should result in a quicker embarkation from Cirkewwa as both vehicles and passengers can proceed immediately to the vessel through the appropriate routes.

At the Mgarr end, passengers and vehicles will need to purchase tickets and have them validated, in the same way as they do presently in Cirkewwa.

Tickets for commuters wishing to use the Sa Maison service can be bought from the company’s ticket booths at Mgarr.

The tickets will then be collected by the master or his representative prior to embarkation on the vessel.

Gozo Channel said that due to the shift of the ticketing system, the Immorru Ghawdex Scheme, which used to offer incentives for customers travelling to Gozo on specific trips, shall be discontinued.

Gozo Channel officers will be doing their utmost to reduce any inconvenience that this change might cause. Further information on tel: 2210 9000.
