Bianca Zammit released from hospital, will stay in Gaza
Bianca Zammit, the Maltese human rights activist shot in Gaza on Saturday, was released from hospital this morning but does not intend returning to Malta.
"She has to stay at her home for rest for 15 days," her father Joe Zammit told timesofmalta.com .
Ms Zammit, 28, was shot in the leg by Israeli forces as she filmed a protest by Palestinians in a security zone. The bullet went through a muscle in one of her legs but caused no permanent harm.
Mr Zammit said that his daughter was initially discharged yesterday but doctors asked her to return for observation and kept her overnight.
She is now being cared for by her Palestinian neighbours, who cook her food and cater for her needs.
Mr Zammit reiterated that Bianca had forgiven whoever shot her. The incident, he said, had not dampened her enthusiasm for the voluntary work she carries out in Gaza. She went there last May to work for the International Solidarity Movement and expects to stay there for another three months.
Her work includes teaching English and writing about the Palestinian plight.
Prior to travelling to Gaza, she had spent two months in the West Bank.

Bianca Zammit, really I am happy that you have recovered and your story might help a bit in understanding part of the Palestinian continous suffering since about a century! to forgive is a very nice thing, however, to encourage the wrong act is not a good thing! the ocupying zionist force soldiers who shot Bianca( as they always do with the Palestinians and other Palestinian solidarity group from all over the world), they did that intentionally and they knew very well that Bianca as the other people were unarmed and above all that they are occupying forces restricting the life of the other innocent people because these people trying to show part of the reality for the world where media misconduct the people by focusing on some aspects and ignoring the other important part of the story! to forgive does not equal to give right to these zionists to kill the people with out respecting any human values! to be just, is to bring these criminal soldiers to international laws court to at least reduce such risk in future! again congratulation Bianca for your recovery wishing all the sucesss in your life! God bless!

I hope that among this lady's teaching of english and writing about the Palestinian plight there is also the teaching of LOVE to your neighbour so that may oneday the time arrive that the Star of David is not an evil emblem in the eye of a palestinian and vice versa. ONLY then peace arrive when there is tolerance and compromise between the two countries,

Bianca is primarily motivated by the love of Christ and she loves both the Palestianians and the Israelis. She has friends from both Israel and Gaza. She eagerly desires peace between the two peoples. But, of course, peace cannot be brought about without justice. On New Year's Day the Catholic Church celebrates the Day of Peace and chooses a particular theme every time. On one occasion the theme was: 'If you want peace, work for justice!'

My dear little sister, through this whole ordeal you have taught me that it is important to follow your heart, your personal freedom, to have a voice for what you believe in. People have been commenting, good bad and it takes all types to make a world with different viewpoints. You had the courage to follow your heart. Before you went I told you but you could die and you answered but I have to go. All this year whenever I spoke to you you had such serenity in your heart for what you were doing, I was amazed. In your life you have dedicated your efforts to different causes as they arose with the bottom line always being trying to lend support to those that are more oppressed. In today's rat race with the value of individual success it is easy to look away from those in need and judged crazy for following the calling of collective unconscious, especially when it leads you somewhere like Gaza. For ALL your life's work I am proud of you!

Li tmur il-Palestina kien l-ewwel appuntament internazzjonali fil-qasam tad-drittijiet tal-bniedem jew inkella diga serviet f'xi postijiet oħra. Ninsab certa li kienet taf fejn sejra u għalhekk iddecidiet li tibqa hemm

Mr. Joe Zammit
You have a daughter to be proud of. May God bless her and give her the strength to carry on her sterling mission.
Dear Ms. Zammit.
Please take care of yourself as we need you back home safe and sound. If possible, get rid of the Video you may have managed to capture. The Zionists war crimes and terrorism has been documented from many quarters and have become crystal clear facts for world wide populations (bar those miserable racist or idiot minority)
