Theft causes €30,000 damage to sewage pumping station
Power cables were stolen from Mizieb sewage pumping station on Friday, and there would have been a major sewage overflow had the theft not been noticed on time, a court was told today.
Police Inspector Michael Mallia, testifying during the arraignment of Christopher Micallef, 43 of Manikata,said that Mr Micallef had stolen cables worth €2,300 and caused damage of over €30,000.
He said there were two eyewitnesses to the crime.
Mr Micallef was also accused of relapsing. He was remanded in custody.

With modern times, we have modern values that we need to speak about, preach about and spread. Modern values such as care for the natural environment, are more needed than sermons about traditional values that no longer apply.
