Members of the Kilimanjaro Challenge IV Team (KC4) donated €37,000 to Fr Ġorg Grima, of the Moviment Missjunarju Ġesù fil-Proxxmu.

The donation will partially subsidise the first phase of the construction of Oasis of Peace, an orphanage in Nyamonge, Kenya, run by Fr Grima's organisation. It will house children who lost their parents to HIV or to tribal warfare.

The Kilimanjaro Challenge is a fundraising initiative organised by philanthropic organisation Reaching Out.

The KC4 team achieved a first for Malta when its members collectively made it to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. All 14 climbers, five females and nine males, reached the summit on the morning of last September 6, the youngest team member being 20-year old Martina Maria Calleja.
