The 2,700-passenger cruise liner Disney Magic arrived at Grand Harbour this morning on its maiden call.

The liner is due to call at Grand Harbour eight times this year as part of Disney Cruise Line's return to Europe for a five-month season of Mediterranean and Northern European cruises.

Disney Magic has a classic ocean liner look on the outside, with a black hull, shining white top, and two red funnels, both adorned with Mickey heads.

Most modern ships only have one funnel, and this one is no different - one of the funnels is a dummy and houses the teen centre.

Keeping with the Mickey theme, the lifeboats are yellow (rather than the standard orange), making the overall look very Disney - black, white, red, and yellow. The bow has intricate gold scroll-work much like classic tall ships of long ago. Mixed in with this elegant detail is Goofy, dangling from a rope and touching up the paint.

Homeporting in Barcelona, the ship is cruising between Malta, Tunisia and Corsica, Naples, Civitavecchia, La Spezia and Villefranche.

I agree with you but in the 20 years the PN have been in office should have had 5 to 6 cruise liners a week coming in as most small Islands in the Caribbean. The small number of ships trickling in to Malta is not a big success. Sorry I had to bring this up since you chose to politicize this event.

Pajjiz tal Mickey Mouse is not an attack on any political party . If they said gvern tal Mickey Mouse you would be right to protect your political party of choice. In saying that you are 100% right cruises add a lot of money to ones economy. I also believe Malta has the beauty to bring in a lot more cruise ships.

Hi Oriana,

2 years ago I went on a Disney cruise with great apprehension, thinkng it's going to be full of kids running all over the show . To my surprise when we boarded the ship we fond out that 2 out of 3 swimmming pools were for adults only, 2/3rds of the resturants were adults only. We met up with an American couple who were travelling with their 6 year old son, who they did'nt see for 3 days as he was having so much fun with the other kids and was having sleep overs under the care of the crew. They kept in touch via walkie talkie. The food and the service was FANTASTIC !!!!, Four night out of seven we had to wear evening wear for dinner. PLEASE go on it if you can.. ITS FANTASTIC !!!!
