Hamrun Spartans and Msida St Joseph completed their commitments in this season’s Premier League with a 2-2 draw at the National Stadium today.
Mead Mifsud put the Spartans ahead on the stroke of half-time when they young winger beat Msida keeper Manuel Bartolo at the near post.
The Spartans doubled their lead on 67 minutes when Marcelo Pereira’s shot ricocheted with the back of Zammit who quickly fired a low drive that gave Bartolo no chance.
The Msida keeper further dampened the day for Msida when he received two quick yellow cards for persistent protests of the Spartans second goal and was dismissed.
The Saints pulled one back on 79 minutes when Miguel Ciantar’s drive from a free-kick hit the arm of Roderick Fenech in the araa and Tyrone Farrugia made no mistake from the spot.
Three minutes from time Msida were awarded a second penalty when substitute Timothy Fleri Soler was harshly judged to have fouled Tyrone Farrugia when winning possession and the Msida skipper again made no mistake from the spot.
Obinna Obiefule was voted as the BOV Player of the match.
