Brendan Aquilina, nicknamed "The Baby" as he is the youngest member in the Malta lawn bowls squad, started his day at the 2010 Juniors Lawn Bowls World Cup, currently being played in Australia, by beating Anthony N. Ahto, of the Cook Islands, 12-6, 17-0, yesterday.

When Malta Lawn Bowls administrator Alan Gauci asked Aquilina, 23, which opponent will he be playing next, calm and collected he was very frank with his answer: "I don't really know to be quite honest... I take each game as it comes".

Aquilina's next game was against Dylan Jacobs, the strong Canadian. But, Aquilina was determined to keep hold of his top placing and beat Jacobs 7-5, 24-0.

The tournament is now at its half-way stage with six games to go.

So far, Aquilina is unbeaten. He won all his games and holds the highest shots difference of 96. The nearest, 50, is held by New Zealander, Andrew Kelly, the current runner-up.

In the men's section, Shaun Parnis beat Masaharu Satoh, of Japan, (11-1, 10-2). Parnis is fourth with a game in hand.
