The Breast Care Support Group president Gertrude Abela, and vice-president Doris Fenech, recently attended the seventh European Breast Cancer Conference, in Barcelona, Spain, as the national delegate and national representative of Europa Donna Malta.

Meanwhile, Breast Care Support Group secretary Anne Micallef attended a two-day workshop on patient participation in clinical trials in Athens, organised by the EU-funded project, PatientPartner.

During the conference, it was announced that the European Parliament recently adopted the Written Declaration on the Fight Against Breast Cancer in the EU, which calls for the implementation of measures across Europe to fight this disease ,which is the leading cause of death in European women aged 35 to 59.
