On the spot... by Candifloss III
Danger
Who is responsible for making sure that Buskett is a safe place to take our children and old people? The whole area is a dett (sic) trap! Everywhere you look there are trees, some of which are both very tall and extremely dangerous.
Anyone can see it is quite easy for one of these trees' branches - or even a whole tree - to fall on top of a child or old person and render them dead or even injured.
The authorities must remove such dangerous things as trees and make Buskett safe for our children and old people to play safely.
Nuisance
Residents of Paceville have complained that because of the noise and other unpleasant experiences, living in the area has become a nightmares (sic) experience.
One resident complained that, in addition to being woken up in the early hours by youths urinating, defecating and even vomitating (sic) on his front doorstep; the other evening someone actually left a whole pizza in its unopened carton on this same step.
Through these columns, he has asked me to say that if such a thing must happen again, to please make sure and leave a topping that does not, repeat, not contain anchovies.
Language
It seems more and more people are doing mistakes when they abuse of (sic) the English language, when they bring letters and correspondence on the papers. Even I see them doing mistakes like using 10 more extra words where two or more less words would do.
I taught (sic) nearly every person in Malta was supposed to be educated these days. But obviously I taught (sic) wrong.
Stones
If you go near Ħagar Qim you will see something that is very dangerous. Everywhere you can see big stones, some of them even standing up. If such stones were to fall over, it would make many dangers. The authorities must be sure to take away such stones to make such a place safe for all Maltese.
Restroom
The only publics (sic) restroom on Comino (despite, I mean of course... notwithstanding the ones in the Comino Hotel) is far away near the Blue Lagoon. So what are people supposed to do if they must use them when they are at the other end of the island? It's time the authorities taught (sic) about such things and make a new one nearest to Santa Maria bay, before it's too late.
Comino
And while we are speaking about Comino, what must the old people on the island do? There is nowhere where they can go to recreate theirselves (sic). Nowhere! The government must be ashamed from such a thing.
Maltapost
How is it that a letter posted from Marsa on February 4 takes 11 days to get to Valletta, when a postcard dispatched from Australia to Malta on February 3, gets to Malta in only six... yes, six days. Maltapost must be ashamed.
Eyesore
Last year, this column highlighted the Luqa local council and that big monument they constructed on the roundabout near their village. But nothing happened! Why is this?
Such thing is an insult to decent people and popes, when it is obvious to everyone that it resembles exactly a man's... thing. Nobody wants their children or old people to see such things. It must be removed. Action please!
Monument
And while I refer to monuments, when are the authorities going to put back the Sette Gunjo (sic) monument that they took off from the Main Guard (St George's Square)? They must be ashamed to throw away such a thing of heritage.
It must be put back where it belongs, so all our children and old people can see something brave from their history, how we Maltese suffered under Mintoff... or the British or the Knights or Napoleon or...
Wardens
We are seeing an awful lot of people talking against those wonderful people - the local wardens. And they really are wonderful, the wardens. I mean... baked in a moderate oven for two hours and served over a bed of spinach, with a garnish of diced carrot, they can be really delicious.
