At a ceremony hosted by the Malta Institute of Arts, Sciences and Technology (Mcast), learners and training providers came together to celebrate the excellence of a select group of award winners who have completed City and Guilds qualifications with top honours. These included Mcast students Quintin Grech and John Vella.
City and Guilds, the UK's leading awarding body for work-related qualifications, has awarded medals for excellence every year since 1879. The programme rewards talented people who have displayed exceptional standards as students or educational professionals.
Adrienn Fritz, general manager of City and Guilds European Branch Office, said: "Our medallists truly represent the best of the best in vocational training in Europe and have made us proud this year."
Chris Jones, director general and CEO, City and Guilds said: "The medal winners encapsulate the type of people will ensure Malta's economy grows in the coming years - passionate, diverse and equipped with the skills and experience they need to rise to the top of their professions."
Medal winners are now in the running to win one of nine prestigious National Lion Awards, which will be announced later this year at a gala event to celebrate learning, success and achievement, at The Lancaster, London.
