Third generation Maltese player Brendan Aquilina, 23, produced his best form yesterday to ensure that Malta stays on top of the ladder at the 2010 Lawn Bowls Junior World Cup, currently underway in Warilla, New South Wales, Australia.
Aquilina had very good prospects to represent Australia but he opted for the land of his grandmother Angela who was born in Tarxien and emigrated to Australia in the 1950s.
After four matches, Aquilina is the only player from 13 countries with a perfect record.
Yesterday, he beat Alex Kwok, of Hong Kong China, 9-7, 16-4. There are still eight rounds to go.
