The Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Secretariat for Tourism said this afternoon that they were continuing to assist Maltese stranded abroad, although the air traffic situation had improved.
62 flights to and from Malta International Airport were operated today, while 22 had to be cancelled.
Any Maltese who require help should contact Malta's embassies. A list can be found at www.foreign.gov.mt.
In the meantime, plans by the Malta High Commission to organise further coach trips to mainland Europe have been shelved since flight operations have resumed out of most UK airports. Maltese nationals still in the UK should contact their airline for specific advice and to re-book their return flights.
The High Commission yesterday organised wo coaches to transport more than one hundred Maltese nationals from the Malta High Commission in Piccadilly, London to Marseille in France - where arrangements were made with Air Malta to fly these people back to Malta on a chartered flight this evening.
