The International Challenge Trophy match between the Malta and Romania U-23 sides, due to be played on home soil tomorrow, has been postponed.
The Romanian FA has informed its Maltese counterparts that due to flight cancellations their squad is unable to travel to Malta in time for the match.
Romania U-23 were hoping to fly from Bucharest to Malta via Munich but this was not possible since flights from the German airport are momentarily cancelled due to the prevailing circumstances after the volcanic eruption in Iceland.
In a communication from chief executive Ioan Angelo Lupescu, the Romania FA have asked the MFA to agree to stage the match at a later date this year, either later in spring or in autumn.
