91 rape reports since 2005

Ninety-one rape cases were reported between 2005 and last year.

Information given in Parliament shows that there were seven cases in 2005, 13 in 2006, 11 in 2007, 33 in 2008 and 27 last year.

51 cases are still pending in court and 16 are under investigation.

Of the concluded cases, the courts imposed a fine in one case and sent two accused persons for psychiatric care. Another was put under probation and six were handed a suspended sentence.

Six persons were imprisoned and two were imprisoned and fined. Two were acquitted and four cases were withdrawn.
