I have followed replies/explanations by Sean Barbara from Arms Ltd to various problems and issues raised by Enemalta clients. I appreciate that Mr Barbara has a thankless task and I am sure he does his best, even if the explanations at times fall short of satisfaction.
My case is a curious one and I am unsure if it relates to some mistake or whether the person working my bill (Acct. No. 101000013605) was trying to pull a fast one. On October 3, 2009 a meter reader came to my house and after reading the meters handed me a print-out which showed that water consumption was recorded at 0. Since this meter had previously recorded actual consumption varying from 6 to 12 cubic meters I queried the 0 reading. The meter reader replied that the meter was no longer functioning and that in any case all meters were in the process of being replaced.
But lo and behold! When I received the next bill (Invoice No. 12013711) it showed an invented actual consumption of 37 cubic meters.
I paid this bill but deducted €88.16 for water consumption while at the same time sending an e-mail for an explanation, followed a few weeks later by a second e-mail reminder.
The only satisfaction I have received so far are two computer-generated replies assuring me they will "get back to me as soon as possible".
