Like many others, I am an admirer of the fine craftsmanship that went into the building of sailing ships of the 16th and 17th centuries.

I could not help but appreciate and admire the spectacle of such a fine example as that of El Galeón Andalucía in Grand Harbour.

Let us not forget, however, that this type of vessel symbolised Spain's expansionist policies, its greed and rapacity. It was instrumental in helping to subjugate and colonise an entire continent. And it played a key role in the enslavement, genocide and total destruction of advanced indigenous cultures such as the Aztecs and the Incas.

Where was that misguided, self-righteous, paint-throwing group of misfits known as Moviment Graffitti when it was needed?
