The Malta Association of Crohn's and Colitis (MACC) will be organising a seminar on 'Nutrition and IDB - Adult and Paediatric Perspectives' at the Medical School Auditorium, Mater Dei Hospital, Msida, on Friday at 7 p.m.
During the seminar, Dr Thomas Attard, consultant paediatrician and gastroenterologist, and Dr Pierre Ellul, resident specialist in gastroenterology at Mater Dei Hospital, will focus on the impact of balanced nutrition and nutrition in the management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) with emphasis on the management of childhood and adult complications or deficiencies caused by IBD.
The presentations during the seminar should interest especially those who suffer from Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis and their relatives. This activity is the first of a series of seminars to be organised by MACC since its inception last January.
The main aims of MACC are to offer support to people and relatives of people suffering from Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, to help them improve their quality of life and to promote public awareness about these chronic conditions. It also intends to promote patients' needs and rights and to encourage and promote research.
Those who are interested in crohn's and ulcerative colitis and in the management of these conditions are invited to attend this activity. For further information e-mail info@macc.org.mt.
