Strange security procedures were in force. People had the caps of 500ml plastic water bottles confiscated before they could enter. I imagined liquids could be more dangerous if they were explosives ' acid etc. FURTHERMORE, people who had bottles (or whatever) in their handbag or rucksack were not asked to hand them in - in fact bags were not checked visually.

Ħabib tlett kwarti ta' dak li qiegħed tghid mhux vera. L-ewwel nett kien hemm xi zghazagh li bdew jitolbu t-tappijiet ta' l-ilma u warajhom kien hemm xi puluzija jiċċekkjaw il-basktijiet. It-tieni ghalfejn kellek bzonn acidu splussiv meighek fil-laqgħa mal-papa? nahseb argument ftit esagerat.

The "confiscation" of caps of plastic water bottles (where bottles are allowed at all) is standard practice, even in football pitches abroad. The reason is to prevent the throwing of full bottles which do much more damage than empty ones.
