Two policemen were injured this morning when their motorcycles skidded on the slippery roads, one in Rudolph Street, Sliema, the other in Glormu Cassar Avenue, Floriana.

Both the policemen were on duty.

The injuries of the officer injured in Sliema were slight, those of the one in Valletta are still unknown.

A car also crashed into the barriers near the Satariano showroom at Sa Maison, also because of the slippery conditions. No one was injured.

In the meantime, the Civil Protection Department has issued a warning urging motorists to drive carefully because the roads are very slippery due to the drizzling rain.

Police sources said that 10 minor collisions had been reported on the Papal route. The police were clearing the roads.
