People having been taking pictures on the chair used by Pope Benedict during the Papal Mass on the granaries, while others others are buying the plants and flower pots which decorated the altar.

The Mass ended at about 12.30 p.m.

People have been queuing to have their picture taken on the chair. Others have also been buying the chairs - made of hard cardboard - used by the 700 concelebrants.

Meanwhile Pope Benedict was driven in a closed car to the Apostolic Nunciature in Rabat, where he is expected to meet the victims of child abuse before resting.

He will then go to Kalkara and cross the harbour in a catamaran to address youths at Valletta waterfront.
