David Pardey, a UK expert in emotional intelligence who is renowned in the area of leadership will next week lead a talk and a half-day seminar on leadership and management, organised by the Institute of Business and Commerce of the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (Mcast).
Dr Pardey is senior manager, Research and Policy, at the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM), the UK's premier leadership and management development organisation.
On Tuesday at 6.45 p.m., Dr Pardey will lead a one-hour thematic talk entitled 'Developing effective leadership within NGOs and youth organisations' at Students House, Mcast main campus, Corradino Hill, Paola.
The talk will focus on effective leadership and its development, with a particular focus on the role emotional intelligence plays in leadership performance as well as in learning and development.
The talk is of special interest to people seeking more effective leadership within NGOs and youth organisations.
The role that emotional intelligence plays in learning, personal development, HR management and leadership is the theme of a half-day seminar to be held on Wednesday morning at The Palace hotel, Sliema. The seminar is primarily aimed at HR managers and executives.
During this seminar Dr Pardey will cover a number of significant issues relevant to those responsible for ensuring their organisations are being led effectively. He will introduce findings from some of ILM's recent research into leadership and management, including managers' attitudes to their roles, the leadership and management capabilities required by CEOs, and the role of trust in leadership and its effect on organisational performance.
Attendance to both events is free of charge, and registrations will be received on a first-come first-served basis. To reserve a seat, e-mail progdevibac@mcast.edu.mt.
